摘要

Thermal imaging with silicide Schottky-barrier detector arrays has been extended into the long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) spectral band (8 to 14 microns) for the first time. High-quality imagery with a minimum resolvable temperature of about 0.3 K was obtained by operation at 50 K of monolithically integrated 128 x 128-element arrays consisting of IrSi detectors with a cutoff wavelength of about 9.4 microns and surface-channel CCD readout circuitry.
