Momentive, UPC Technology Sign MOU For Chinese Phenolic Resins Venture

Jiangsu-Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc. and UPC Technology Corp. have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint venture for the production of specialty phenolic resins in China. The proposed venture plans to build its first production plant in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China, adjacent to an existing UPC complex. The plant, for which capacity was not given, will produce a full range of specialty novolac and resole phenolic resins.
