It was only spring, but students in John Kinch's publications management course at Michigan State University were thinking several months ahead to election time in the fall. Kinch's 15 students wanted to spread the "S" word-sustainability-through a campus-wide awareness program aimed at 18- to 24-year-olds. And they wanted the right time of year in which to do it.
