It consists of 119 pages and 132 pictures, is very well referenced and has an excellent literature base. The book starts with a chapter on the basic principles, establishing a very good evidence-based foundation that will enable surgeons and residents to make sound decisions and proceed with confidence. The following two chapters detail pre-operative planning and surgical exposures, and direct surgeons towards the best ways to plan their arthroplasty. The subsequent chapters go on to explain implant selection and the management of specific causes of failure. There is an abundance of pearls and recent literature to support the decision making processes and operative techniques.
