Stapedectomy: Laser Versus Drill Versus The Use Of Pick Instruments

Stapedectomy, in order to obtain consistent results, must proceed in a series of "well-defined steps. The instruments available to accomplish this include various laser systems, hand-held picks and the microdrill. These may be used in isolation or in combination with one another. The techniques for their use, along with advantages and disadvantages of each, are described and illustrated.
