Wood Mac: $28B in capex planned for Eagle Ford in 2013

The Eagle Ford shale in South Texas continues to retain enormous value for companies that are well-positioned in the play, according to a Wood Mackenzie analysis that was released in early December. "Today, the biggest three players in the area-EOG Resources, BHP Billiton and ConocoPhillips-have a combined remaining value of US$30 billion. All of them hold premium acreage and have quickly moved to large-scale development," says Callan McMahon, upstream research analyst for Wood Mackenzie.
