LARAC has been supporting local authorities and advising them on waste and recycling issues since it was set up in 1985 by waste expert, Jeff Cooper. The organisation's core principles include: stopping waste generation at source; collecting discarded materials for recycling or composting; recovering energy from non-recylables and reducing the use of landfill to an absolute minimum.
