摘要

Principal component analysis was used to group tea cultivars based on total catechins and polyphenols activity against free radicals such as DPPH and hydroxyl radicals. UPASI-17 had the highest polyphenols and catechin content, as well as the highest radical scavenging activity compared to the other cultivars. 4 distinct groups were identified. Results suggest the method may be suitable for screening new tea varieties, and help in the production of high free radical scavenging black tea.
