Splanchnic Hemodynamics in Liver Regeneration After Right Liver Living Donor Liver Transplantation

We read with interest the article by Jiang et al.1 published in the September issue of Liver Transplantation on splanchnic hemodynamics in liver regeneration after right liver living donor liver transplantation. The investigators concluded that high portal flow velocity and volume in the early posttransplant period were greatly related to more rapid liver regeneration. This was based on volumetric analysis of the right liver graft and the remnant left liver by computed tomography 1 month after transplantation.
