When Purvin & Gertz's Ron Gist told delegates at the seminar,held in Singapore,that LPG values in Asia-Pacific could hit 600/t cif in October,his audience was both shocked and puzzled.Although the industry seems to have accepted that high prices are here to stay,most are still struggling to come to terms with the fact that physical cargoes are hovering just below the 440/t mark.And with October CFR swaps trading at around 435/1,participants were questioning how such highs could be hit within barely three months.
