Government evaluates Peru LNG option

Peru's energy ministry is examining a new option to safeguard future domestic gas supplies. Deputy energy minister Daniel Camac announced on 2 March that a portion of the LNG produced by the Peru LNG consortium could remain in the country to meet domes tic needs. "The idea is to use LNG processed at [Peru LNG's 4.4mn t/yr] Pampa Melchorita [plant] to satisfy local demand," Camac says.
