Peru floats option of LNG sales to Chile

The Peruvian government is raising the possibility of selling LNG to neighbour-ing Chile as part of broader proposed energy integration that is taking shape in the wake of the resolution of a long-standing maritime border dispute. Energy minister Jorge Merino says the Peru LNG project,operated by US firm Hunt Oil,could export to Chile.“Peruvian gas is being exported to Mexico,Japan and South Korea today,but we should not discard the possibility of exporting to Chile,”he said at the end of last month.
