Cross flow membrane filtration offers some unique benefits for the manufacture of products ranging from enzymes to dairy products.This method provides an economic means of water removal that can be integrated easily into existing concentration and drying systems.However,perhaps the most exciting feature of the technology is its ability to simultaneously concentrate and purify,thereby enhancing product quality and enabling new product development.In this paper a case study is presented as an illustration of how these properties have been exploited for the industrial production of enzymes.
