PC ON WHEELS

I'm seeing more vehicles today with a PC stuffed in the trunk and some form of display shoehorned into the instrument panel. A keyboard and mouse is tethered to the center console by its cable, and there may be a CD-ROM drive in place of the map pocket or cut in somewhere. Of course a noisy, power hungry and electrically hazardous voltage inverter is needed to provide the 120-volt AC supply to feed the unit and its peripherals. Not an overly pretty picture, but indicative of how more home technology is going mobile. Many car audio head unit manufacturers have "multi or dual zone" outputs that allow the driver to listen to radio or MP3s while the passengers watch DVD, This is an old idea from custom home audio where the homeowner can listen to a dozen different sources in every room in the house.
