Gulf of Mexico E&P Faces Another Bout of Even Tougher Regulations

Tough new requirements are still on the horizon for producers seeking approval for exploration plans and drilling permits in the Gulf of Mexico, on top of the new regulations that immediately followed last year's blowout and oil spill at BFs Macondo Prospect. Already in force is a requirement for producers to show that they have a plan in place for preventing and responding to blowouts, oil spills and other accidents. But now, a new workplace safety rule will go into force on Nov.
