The application concerns a ball nose end mill insert comprising an insert body having an axial center axis (C2), two opposed substantially flat insert side surfaces (23, 24), a peripheral surface (25) joining the two insert side surfaces (23, 24), the peripheral surface (25) including two arcuate surfaces (26, 27) at a first axially forward end (28) of the insert (2) and an insert support surface at a second axially rearward end (29) of the insert. The arcuate surfaces (26, 27) extend axially rearward from an axial center area of the first axially forward end (28) and are positioned symmetrically on opposite sides in relation to the axial center area of the insert. Peripheral side surfaces (32, 33) adjoin the arcuate surfaces. An insert through hole (37) intersects the insert side surfaces (23, 24). The insert support surface comprises an axial insert support surface (34) having surface portions (34A, 34B) on opposite sides of the axial center axis (C2) of the insert and a radial insert support surface (35). The axial insert support surface (34) and the radial insert support surface (35) together form an acute angle (²). Furthermore, the application concerns a respective tool body and ball nose end mill.
