A new high-heat crystal polystyrene (PS),CX5229,is said to offer enhanced flow and is designed to satisfy demanding requirements of foam sheet extrusion and blown-film applications,as well as to produce oriented polystyrene.The material is said to have improved flow characteristics without sacrificing the melt strength,which can be critical to many applications.Juan Aguirre,technical services manager PS at this manufacturer,says the grade improves productivity in conventional extrusion equipment by reducing operating pressure and lowering processing temperature.
