SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Asia's polystyrene (PS) producers have increased offer prices in the week of 22 February despite lacklustre demand for resins following the Lunar New Year holidays, said traders and producers on Thursday. The rapid run-up in styrene monomer (SM) prices from $960-970/tonne CFR (cost & freight) China to $1,000/tonne CFR China after the Chinese market re-opened in mid-February has caught resin makers off guard. Most were implementing higher resin offers in the week of 22 February, but acceptance by customers in China has been limited. Traders also reported limited pick-up in buying interest for PS after the holidays
