The role of physician is quickly changing as the new fleet of doctors comes into service. It's becoming increasingly rare to find doctors that solely devote their time to patient care, still scribble on paper charts, and are more inclined to believe an adage than a p-value of less than 0.05. For better or worse, the trend now is for Blackberry alarms to rush docs out of the clinic and into their labs to submit an abstract or to teleconference with a consulting firm. For the doctors of today, acquiring responsibilities beyond the clinical setting is becoming the status quo (Williams et al. 2001). In response to the expanding demand on physicians to fill myriad roles, doctors are increasingly acquiring formal training beyond their MD degree (Larson et al. 2003)
