Testing electric vehicle viability

A pilot project, aimed at testing the viability of electric vans in a working fleet environment, has been launched. The consortium comprises eircom, the Ecology Foundation and Topaz. The study will gauge the performance of electric vans under a variety of criteria, including electricity usage, cost, mileage and emissions. It will also include driver and forecourt surveys and the public's response.
