Inside, outside and through: a map isdrawn of each fruit

I0S determines the external characteristics of a fruit. While the fruit rotates under the camera box, the cameras take 60 shots of its skin. Software analyses these shots, and defects are projected onto a geomodel. Stem and calyx are recognised and excluded from the defect analysis. You could say that a map is drawn of each fruit, and each defect is shown only once on the map. The system uses colour and black and white cameras. Defects on light-coloured fruits are easier to spot with colour cameras,while defects on dark fruits can be more effectively located in the black and white range.
