My father would have been 95 years old had he still been with us today. Born during the Great War, he was a young man just starting work in the depression years of the thirties; he married and started a family in the early forties and had his sixth and youngest child - me - little more than a month before his forty-fifth birthday. He was not a man blessed with good fortune and he certainly would not have had any time for people who espouse the importance of having a 'life map'. He lived by simple rules. Dishonesty was something he would not tolerate and he believed in family above all else.
