When and how FSDs get involved in a renovation or new construction project has a great deal to do with how successful and how marketable the space will be once it's completed. Whether a new hospital addition, college student union, high school or office complex, major building projects are initiated and planned by administrators and executives all the time. Although an efficiently-running Foodservice is always expected when such projects are completed, the amount of input from and involvement of dining services directors in early stages of the planning process can vary widely.
