The Neverending Story—Using the Narrative as a Fundamental Approach to Teaching Biology and Beyond

Topics typically relegated to the realms of "microbiology" are often difficult challenges to student engagement and learning. Here I discuss the rationale for utilizing the universal narrative as an effective teaching strategy to teach all aspects of science, with a particular emphasis on biology topics regularly mandated at the senior level. This article serves as an introduction or extended abstract for several biological narratives with an emphasis on the origin and diversification of life.
