BASF has added new coloured and effects pigments to its range of products for automotive coatings, allowing bodywork to gleam and display special effects. The pigment range "Lumina Royal", for example, includes solutions in the blue, aqua, violet and copper-coloured families. These allow relatively small quantities of the pigments to be used in standardised special-effect shades - improving the physical properties of the coating without sacrificing the interference effect.
