Pink garlic growers celebrate double whammy

THIS year marks a double anniversary for growers of Ail Rose de Lautrec (pink garlic from Lautrec), as the product has now held Label Rouge (Red Label, a French sign guaranteeing superior quality) certification for 40 years, and PGI denomination for 10 years. "To celebrate, we are releasing a special logo for our leaflet and a range of produce labelled with the anniversary details," says Christelle Renaudie of the Syndicat de Defense du Label Ail Rose de Lautrec. "We are also producing an English version of our promotion leaflet and translating our website into German." The organisation will also hold its annual garlic festival on 4 August 2006.
