Leaders Collaborate to Address Key Concerns

The 43rd gathering of political leaders of the Pacific Islands Forum (the Forum) took place in the last week of August 2012 in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Established in 1971 by seven countries (Australia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Nauru, New Zealand, Tonga and then Western Samoa), the Forum over the years has grown to include the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
