Chesapeake Expands Eagle Ford

Australia's Antares Energy has an- nounced that US-based gas giant Chesa- peake Energy has agreed to pay $200 million for the right to drill on 23,180 net acres in the South Texas Eagle Ford shale play. After the Antares announcement, Argus Research downgraded shares of Chesapeake to “sell” from “hold”, citing the company's “profligate” spending on acreage.
