Chesapeake Expands In Eagle Ford, increases Quarterly Production

Chesapeake Energy has nearly doubled its acreage position in the liquids-rich Eagle Ford Shale gas play of South Texas since the start of 2010, bringing its total land position in the play to 150,000 net acres from 80,000 at year-end 2009. Chief Executive Aubrey McClendon said Chesapeake hopes to ultimately amass 300,000 to 400,000 net acres in the play during a call with analysts and investors last week.
