EDF chief Henri Proglio was nominated as a director of Spanish construction and wind energy group FCC by its board on Wednes- day. His name goes before FCC’s annual gen- eral meeting on May 27. Spanish billionaire and FCC’s main owner and vice chair, Esther Koplowitz, was ap- pointed to French water utility Veolia’s board three months ago at Proglio’s suggestion (IOD Jan.15,p7). Her appointment is due to be rat- ified at Veolia’s AGM on May 7. She held a similar role there in 1998 and from 2000-02. Meanwhile, Proglio recently gave up the top Veolia job and will step down as its chairman later in 2010, after political calls for him to focus on the EDF chief executive job.
