Is this surprising in an age of evidence-based care that a workforce as 'expensive' as tissue viability nurses are, are being asked to justify their existence?The truth is that in some areas nurses are carrying titles such as specialist or consultant when they truly are not functioning at that level. However, this is only occasionally the case; there are many instances where there are excellent clinicians in place delivering high quality, cost-effective services.
