Whenever there is any talk or discussion on Darjeeling's tea industry, contribution of early British planters are nost often referred to and certainly should be, since Darjeeling's tea industry is the outcome of the adventure of a few Britishers who dared to initiate tea plantation in those days when the communication system was awfully bad, land was covered by jungles infested with poisonous snakes and insects.
