The Fiat Chrysler software mystery has been solved. The "software issue" that led FCA US to park hundreds of Jeep Renegades and, later, scores of Fiat 500X subcompact crossovers at a test track here involved only the identification numbers of the vehicles, said a source with direct knowledge of the issue. The source said a software problem at FCA, not in the vehicles, could have prevented the vehicles from being registered in some areas. The vehicles were stored here simply to keep them from going to buyers until the problem was fixed, the source said.
