Delivering agricultural education in innovative ways to engage future consumers and key decision makers is the focus of the Art4 Agriculture programs managed by Dairy Youth Australia (DYA). Art4Agriculture chairman, Lynne Strong says the increasing divide between urban and rural Australians has long-term detrimental consequences for Australian agriculture. "Urban Australians are losing touch with how their food and fibre is produced and modem value chains mean farmers are more isolated from consumers than ever before. This has the potential to restrict future agricultural production as we compete with urban areas for natural resources while facing the need for a global doubling of food production by 2050," she say.
