Bruny Island Charters is one of Australia's most successful adventure and environmental tour operators - so much so, that a trip to Tasmania's Bruny Island is listed internationally as one the best six things to do in Australia. The company re-equipped its fleet two years ago with three 12.5 by 4.1-metre Kirby Naiad RIBs, replacing diesel-engined catamarans. The aim was two-fold: to improve passenger comfort in the open waters, and to combine higher operating speeds with lowered running costs.
