摘要

The compaction requirements for road basecourse materials are commonly expressed in terms of dry density ratio, ie the percentage of a laboratory reference density. The laboratory reference density is typically achieved by compaction of material in a mould with a standardised compactive effort and is referred to as the Maximum Dry Density. When cement is added to the basecourse material as a modifying agent, to increase the stiffness or strength, the laboratory reference density is altered. This paper presents the results of an investigation into the effect of curing time, after addition of cement and, prior to compaction, on the Maximum Dry Density of crushed granite basecourse material. The effect was found to be highly significant and has implications for the interpretation of compaction control tests on cement modified material.
