Advantages of the gravi- metric control of bulk material flows-illus- trated with the example of the bunker discharge control at walheim limestone quarry

Taking the control of the bunker discharge for high-gradelimestone chippings at the limestone quarry in Walheim operated bythe German firm Teerbau GmbH as an example, in this article, theauthors outline the economic and product-specific advantages thegravimetric control of bulk material flows, with the help of a PID-controlled belt scale, can bring for the operational result. In theex- ample cited, in addition to an improvement in the quality of thehigh- grade chippings, a production increase of the almost 15/100could be achieved after installation of the new equipment.
