Advantages of the gravi- metric control of bulk material flows-illus- trated with the example of the bunker discharge control at walheim limestone quarry

Taking the control of the bunker discharge for high-grade limestone chippings at the limestone quarry in Walheim operated by the German firm Teerbau GmbH as an example, in this article, the authors outline the economic and product-specific advantages the gravimetric control of bulk material flows, with the help of a PID- controlled belt scale, can bring for the operational result. In the ex- ample cited, in addition to an improvement in the quality of the high- grade chippings, a production increase of the almost 15/100 could be achieved after installation of the new equipment.
