Kazakh-China pipeline opens

A 200,000 b/d pipeline between Kazakhstan and China was officially opened last week.The 962km Atasu-Alashankou pipeline is the first link between the former Soviet Union and China.It will enable Kazakhstan to tap into the Chinese market.Line-fill of 4.3 8mn bl began on 15 December,with exports to start in May 2006.
