Apache Reports Two More Discoveries in the Western Desert that Yielded 70 Million Cu Ft/Day of Gas and 2,330 B/D of Condensate

Apache Corporation has announced two more gas/condensate discoveries on concessions in the Western Desert where it has a 100% contractor interest,thus continuing its record of exploration successes in Egypt.On the Matruh concession,the Mihos-1X well penetrated 191 feet of net pay in the Cretaceous AEB 6 and the Jurassic Upper and Lower Safa horizons at depths of 12,350 to 15,700 feet.Thirty-five feet of the Lower Safa formation were perforated between 15,385 and 15,420 feet,yielding a test flow of 41.8 million cu ft/day of natural gas and 1,419 b/d of condensate through a one-inch choke at a flowing wellhead pressure of 2,378 psi.
