Oil Minister Signs Three New Oil Agreements Covering Blocks Offered by EGAS in 2006

The Egyptian Oil Minister,Mr.Sameh Fahmy,has signed three new exploration and production-sharing agreements covering tracts offered in 2006 by the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company(EGAS).The agreements relate to tracts that cover a total area of 12,759 sq km and call for total exploration spending of 193 million,including on the drilling of 18 wells.In addition,signature bonuses totaling 14 million were paid.These blocks were assigned to the companies concerned at the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007(1 Feb.,2007).The tracts are the following:
