Oil Minister Has Signed Agreements Covering Three Tracts Assigned by EGAS in 2009

Three exploration and production-sharing agreements were signed in mid-February between the Egyptian Oil Minister, Mr. Sameh Fahmy, and the companies concerned covering three tracts assigned by Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) in 2009 (AOG, 1 June, 2009). The blocks were included in the international exploration bid round organized by EGAS in 2008, in which a total of seven offshore blocks in the Mediterranean were offered to the industry. The signing of the agreements by the Oil Minister is one of the last stages in the Eevotian process for awarding new exploration licenses before thev come into effect.
