Some Recent Advances In Shrimp Genetics

Over the past year or so, some interesting work has been reported in the genetic improvement of farmed shrimp. These studies cover a variety of techniques, ranging from simple selection trials to gene transfer. Considering on-going increases in global production and investment in this industry, and the importance of shrimp farming in many developing countries throughout the world, it seems timely to review these recent genetic advances.
