摘要

Volume rendering is very important to analyze and understand the detailed information of large-scale volume data. However, traditional volume rendering technique is not suitable to render large-scale volume, because the time-consuming visibility sorting process is always needed. To solve this problem, particle-based volume rendering (PBVR) was proposed, and it can renderer large-scale volume data efficiently. PBVR need to generate particles before rendering. However, there are several hyper parameters in the particle generation function and improper setting of these parameters can lead to rendering artifacts. In this work, a new image space based particle rendering method is proposed. Rendering artifact can be decreased and image quality can be improved obviously with this proposed method.
