The annual assembly of Centroal, Assomet's aluminium group, that took place in Milan on May 5th, was the occasion for a presentation of the conclusive data for 2015 concerning the production and use of aluminium and alloys in Italy. All things considered, in a global economic context characterised by a slow and uncertain recovery, the sector seems to be picking up confidence with a small but clear increase in the total use of metal in Italy that reached 1,898,000 tons, with respect to the 2014 figure of 1,811,200 tons (figure 1).
