フレキシブルスピントロニクスデバイスとその応用に向けた展望

摘要

Spintronics devices show high sensitivity and ultra-low power functionalities and will be of increasing importance as internet of things(IoT)devices.Endowing these devices with stretchability will further expand the possible applications.We recently realized sensing of not strain magnitude but of strain direction by using a single spin valve formed on an organic flexible substrate.The stretchability of both the substrate and thin metallic ferromagnetic layers enables strain sensing on a wide range of arbitrarily shaped surfaces, which has been not easy when using spintronics devices formed on a rigid semiconductor substrate.These stretchable and miniaturized strain sensors will be of increasing importance for wearable devices,structural or human health monitoring, body mechanics, and robotics from the perspective of the trillion-sensor universe.
