Eni is to use up its last chance in the Angolan pre-salt in the first half of next year when it completes its final commitment well in the Kwanza Basin. The firm operates 4,900sq km Block 35 which has so far seen more success than some of the other pre-salt blocks in the basin in that the first well drilled, Ombovo, was declared a non-commercial oil discovery. The Ocean Rig Poseidon drilled the well in 2014 to a total depth of around 14,765ft (4,000m) in the east of the block in around 5,905ft (1,800m) of water.
