Double tanker deals for converted FPSOs

Two VLCCs have been bought in different deals to be converted into FPSOs. BW Offshore exercised an option to acquire the VLCC tanker Blue Opal for US $83.4m from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering. BW said it has performed detailed engineering studies and inspections of the VLCC since late 2012 and is currently evaluating several FPSO projects suitable for the vessel.
