The majority of drilling activity in the Mediterranean since around 2014 has been primarily development. There have been sporadic bursts of exploration here and there - giant finds such as Eni's Zohr in the Levant Basin have encouraged further exploration clusters. For the most part, however, exploration has been few and far between and some previously active regions, such as Libya, have seen this type of drilling dwindle to nothing whether for political or economic reasons.
