Development and Validation of a Scale to Measure Anomie of Students

摘要

The goal of the present study was to develop and validate a measurement of anomie within the Indian context. A scale development approach was used to achieve it. To produce the items, their refinement and validation, this study has adopted well-accepted and renowned scale development procedures. Two independent data sets were used to evaluate the structure of the scale. The findings of this study present a 21-item three-factor scale measuring anomie of Indian students. Moreover, anomie scale has an adequate internal consistency coefficient, which is "a = .89." This study is the foremost study, which has developed a reliable and valid scale for measuring the anomie in Indian context.
